Welcome back!

These days, I live in the sticks so I do not get near the bigger malls in any of the cities around where we live. The closest one is probably 80 miles away. But when I was traveling around the country, there were some pretty big malls in those cities. Now, the biggest mall is in Minnesota. I was able to find my way there one time. Thing is, the place is so gigantic that it would take several months to actually shop in all the stores and kiosks. The place is simply awesome.

The trouble I had was in keeping track of where I was. It reminded me of a mountain. So, you want to give directions at the mall and you tell someone the directions like it was a mountain. At least I would. Okay, on the south face, you will find Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. On the North Face, you have Sears and Nordstrom. If you find the big four, you can find anything in there!!

Happy Shopping!

To tell you the truth, I don’t normally think of kitchen or bathroom faucets as being all that exciting. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the website owned by Faucet.com where you can search to your heart’s content for kitchen faucets and bathroom faucets. There are some rather impressive designs that I would be glad to have in my home. Ours are getting a tad ratty.

Take a look around the site and you will see some designs for the kitchen that are very modern. You can install a Delta Faucet yourself and watch how great it looks in your home.

If you have chosen to remodel the bathroom, plan to install new bathroom faucets in the sinks and tub as well. The new bathroom will have style! I noticed that if your order goes over $99, you get free shipping too!

There are websites that have some pretty good stuff on them. Items that I want, for certain, like that laptop I’ve been looking for. However, this particular website is over the top with good prices and great deals! These are “most watched” auction items, Tiger Direct, Walmart and more. Tell you what. Just think of an item that you want to search. Go to their page and search. I suspect you will find at least one unless it’s really, really rare.

DollarSuperMart has the Online Shopping Deals for you. I have been thinking about getting a laptop so I searched that on their site. I came up with a bunch of them. Some were in my price range, some not. I chose to look at an IBM T30 Notebook. Really nice. Had a lot of the things I wanted in a laptop. And I could have it for a little over $300. Oh yes!

Then I checked out the Sony Vaio VGN-SZ160P Laptop Core Duo 1.8GHz 1GB. This one has a current bid of $609 as I write this. The auction ends tonight. That sounds like a sweet deal!

Personally, I am going back to DollarSuperMart because I know that I can find those things that I want at affordable prices, sometimes with FREE SHIPPING.

Have you ever thought about buying from those infomercials? Have you taken the time to look at them? Many thousands of people throughout the United States DO buy from those television half hour and one hour commercials. Do you think they’re effective? Frankly, I do or they would not still be there. I have seen infomercials for a lot of years now. So, what’s the secret to this type of advertising? A good ad company.

Hawthorne Direct is top in the field of TV commercials and infomercials. I’ve been to their site and watched the videos and saw a large number of commercials of products and services that I am familiar with and have watched myself. Their list of clients are recognizable and very impressive. They call themselves “America’s premier full-service DRTV agency” and I have to believe it. If you are shopping for a company that will sell your product with style and class, I think you have found the place.

I think that when someone is looking for excellence in their home furnishings, they will want to find a place that believes in being classy. There is just such a place online where you can find Luxury Home Decor. Having looked at the site, I was impressed with the style of furnishings available.

Shopping for bathroom vanities cabinets can be difficult but with these folks, it’s a breeze. Styles that will match the decor of your home and improve the look of your bathrooms are what you will find at this site especially if you wanted to replace old cabinets or add luxury bathroom furniture vanities to those beautiful bathrooms in your home.

When you want to redecorate, choosing the color and style are so important. Replacing the older bathroom vanities will not be a problem for you because these folks have that classy look at affordable prices for you.

The truth is, our house is sort of dark inside. It’s the paneling. It makes things more difficult to see. So, what we really need is some ceiling light to give us a better way to see things. The problem is that we do have one now. It’s a fan and multiple light combo but it does not seem to do the trick for us all the time. We tried putting in those energy saver bulbs which did help but the place is simply too dark.

What we really need are those light bars I’ve seen advertised. Or we could simply put in a search light. Bet that would give us plenty of light….if it didn’t blind us first. Of course, there is the factor that with a whole lot of new light, you could see the places I haven’t dusted in a while. EEK! I know what I’m planning on doing tomorrow!

A while back, our bathroom in the front of the house was having a bit of a sticky wicket type problem. The tile on the floor was masking a small leak that was coming from under the toilet. Unknown to us at the time, the water was seeping under the tile and causing the floor underneath to get really, really wet. It was pretty bad.

We estimated that this problem had been going off and on for months. What really tipped us off was when it started to become wet on our feet just walking into the room. It was like a little clue. After that, it went from bad to worse. The tiles started to come up and then a big gaping hole showed up in the floor. Bear in mind that, all this time, we are waiting on our income so that we can do something about this. ACK!! Well, it came to a head one day when we notice as the bathroom sinks down almost to the ground. I guess we were out of time. Sigh.

I think most people would really rather not discuss things like the inner workings of one’s body. It seems to be something we simply do not want to talk about. Not good at parties. Sitting around the dinner table is not a terrific time to talk about whether you can…go…or not. Recently, my uncle had to have a colonoscopy. That got me thinking about my colon. (not my favorite subject here!)

Do you ever do a colon cleanse on yourself? Ever had the doctor tell you that you are a walking toxin factory? That’s about what it sounded like for my uncle. In the words of a movie character (with the dialog cleaned up for my G rated blog), I’m getting too old for this stuff. I do not want to be a walking toxin factory myself. So, in the interest of good health and not hearing that from my doctor, I plan on eating and taking more natural foods to clean out the toxins.

At this time of year, when the kids have gone back to school and the sales are booming with end of summer clearances, it’s time to get out the checkbook and proceed to the nearest place where they stock garden equipment, furniture and accessories. Let’s say some of that equipment, furniture or accessories could use replacing. It’s been used all summer but it’s getting a little ragged and sometimes doesn’t work right. This is an excellent time to shop for garden tools and equipment to get ready for next year’s fantastic garden.

Of course, in some parts of the country, like where we live, summer is still with us. People are still tending the gardens. Harvest hasn’t happened yet. They have time to replace stuff at sale prices for this year’s use too. Have you checked the hoses to see if they need replacing? How about those Garden Hose Reels that hold them? You don’t have one? Now you need to get that too. And the ideal time is when new hose is bought. At Online Discount Mart, they really have the stuff you need for the garden. This is discount time! Get that hot sale item now. If you don’t, next year it will be full price.

We live in a retirement community where many, many older folks live and love it. Personally, I am starting to BE one of those older folks. I simply do not think of myself that way. In my head, the age is still in the teens or twenties. Of course, to be realistic, if I were actually out in the workforce, I would be looking at retirement in about 5 years, if they didn’t up the retirement age on me. Whew! I know. That certainly dates me, don’t you think?

Since we do live in a retirement village, as you can guess, we see just a lot of retired folks enjoying the amenities around here…well, you know, like swimming in the lakes, a really good diner near here, bingo (when they aren’t being stupid and closing them down for gambling violations.), hunting and, of course, golf.

I did not realize just how many folks, especially retired people, loved golf. To me, it’s sort of a boring game. Hit the ball…tear after it, get out another club, hit the ball, tear after it, clomp the ball into a little bitty hole in the ground. Seems silly to me. But the folks around here take it seriously, I’m telling you. Why, I have seen a couple that have a golf cart, drive it on the street together, obviously headed for the golf course. In my imagination, I can see golf cart parts flying everywhere because…well, you know why. It just gives me the shudders. But then, they go by every day and don’t look any the worse for wear.
