I already had one up on the Kingston Trio but someone asked for one so I am putting another one up by them. The trouble that I had was that there are not that many videos of the original Kingston Trio with Dave Guard. Also, it’s as difficult to get videos with Dave AND Nick Reynolds. This one is called The Lonesome Traveler and includes all of the original Kingston Trio.

Actually, these music videos are for anyone but they are particularly nostalgic to those of us who remember the groups and individuals as they sang the songs in the videos. Not all of the videos are during the particular time frame but the people are from that time.

This video is “A Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. They were the the primary singers for the movie “The Graduate” when many of their songs were in the top 20-40 lists. Now, here is the video. I hope you like it as much as I do.

If you have requests, please leave them in the comments section. Thanks!

It has been years since I’ve seen the Smothers Brothers. They came to our town when I was in high school. At the time, our class was asked who might be available to usher for the local theater because a celebrity act was coming to the stage there. I volunteered not knowing who it was. It was the Smothers Brothers. They were awesome. I have loved them ever since but have no idea whatsoever if they are still working or what. I should probably search that out. Here are the Smothers Brothers singing “They Call The Wind Mariah”.

There are many more Smothers Brothers videos. I plan to have other videos of the 1960s soon.

This particular video was made in 1966. I really loved the Mamas and the Papas. My personal favorite singer was Mama Cass Elliot. By 1966, I had left home and was traveling around the country listening to all the music I could get a hold of. To tell you the truth, I have no idea anymore who were my favorites because there simply are so many to choose from. In those days, I don’t think I had an all time favorite. My favs were the ones that I loved right now. So, I give you The Mamas And The Papas singing California Dreamin:

And now, Happy Shopping!!!

I was in high school when Herman’s Hermits showed up in the U.S. I loved the group. The first thing that I heard of theirs was “I’m Henry the 8th I Am”. I tried to get that but there isn’t a really good video of that. Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits have still been singing though I haven’t heard about them in literally years. You do remember all the girls screaming, right? Well, you can hear it here with Mrs. Brown in 1965 on the Ed Sullivan Show:

I am looking for some of the groups of the fifties and sixties. Sometimes, it’s sort of hard to remember that far back. If you have an idea of a group or just love some group, please let me know.

I have a new category for my blog. The For The Boomers category is because I am a boomer and I have loved the songs that this group and many others did in the sixties and seventies. It was a time when I had just graduated from high school and listened to every top twenty song on the list. In fact, I knew the top twenty for my local station. I bought the 45s and went to sleep every night to the songs and sounds of the sixties. I would never have believed it but Youtube is a great thing if you can find all or most of the oldies that you grew up with. Here is the Kingston Trio on the Andy Williams show in 1966:

I thought about it a long time before I decided to do this. If you have one you want to see on my blog, please let me know.
