Recently, I signed up for a thing called Entrecard. This is, as I stated in the title, a free exchange network or traffic exchange website. I found it to be fantastic for finding new blog friends and generate more traffic in the process. If you have been blogging for any length of time, you realize that in order to get more traffic, you have to work at it. You must write a pretty good post and hope people read it. That was frustrating to me in the beginning because I thought I had some things to say but not that many people ever saw it. More people are now actively reading my blog. Wheeee!

Entrecard has a very interesting way of bringing in the readers. As you can see, on the sidebar of this post, there is an Entrecard. It has an E on it and it says Drop. If you click on the E you will be sent to their signup page. After you sign up with them, you are able to go to blogs with this card and click on the word “drop” which then records the fact that you have been to that blog. It earns you ec or points. When you have a sufficient number, you can purchase a day’s advertising on another blog. While you are doing that, others are wanting to advertise on your blog too! When I started up with them, I already had about 10 other bloggers who wanted to advertise on my blog. You are allowed to drop cards on 300 blogs a day.

Beginners will have an amount on their own advertising at 2 ec since your blog is new. As you drop your card on other blogs, you earn more and more ec. With those, you can purchase more valuable advertising. And as you drop your cards, the more you drop, the more your ads cost to others. You earn ec for dropping cards and when others drop theirs on your card. Each of these things earns you more ec. I just started with Entrecard and I have 3 ads running currently. Each ad runs for full twenty four hours on blogs you choose. Ads you allow will run on yours for twenty four hours. I can tell you that traffic has picked up on my blog quite a bit since I signed up.

Why not go check it out right now! It’s FREE!

For years, I have heard some pretty strange and weird phrases and words. Some are as old as I am. Others I have seen or heard in the last very few years. Sometimes people put the strangest things together or have words that I think they made up!

See, I know there are words that I have no clue about…like peptides. Not a clue. And then there is “SNAP!” Does that make any kind of sense? I think it means that something is really good. Jackalope? That one is totally strange since there is no such animal but there are rumors. How about mesothelioma lawyer? Saw that one recently. Not a clue at all. There are sayings and phrases that make no sense to me either like “I know, right?” What is that all about? Of course, there is the ever popular “Dude” and “WORD”. What do these things mean??? Since I am not totally stupid, I sort of get what they mean but really. And where on earth does it become necessary to say the word “like” as every other word in a sentence??? Like, I thought it was strange to say like in a sentence that really, like, has no point, like, to it at all. Like, you know what I mean?

Perhaps I have buried my head too far into the sand to get these things. Very little about today’s speech makes sense to me anyway. And for what it’s worth, I do not think I am that old either.

Our webhosting service had some problems but we are back up and running again with a small gap in our blogging.

All of our thoughts have turned to Christmas. Have you noticed the date? Have you noticed how close Christmas really is already? I still have shopping to do. It’s sometimes difficult because what I want to get is usually hard to find. The online stores are great for the hard to find stuff IF I can think about it in time. I took a chance today and bought three things that I am not truly sure will make it here before the big day. And of course, there are a couple of things that must be sent out of town too. That cannot be good with only 15 more official shopping days left before Christmas. Obviously, we do not have nearly as much time for mailing things. Sigh. Sometimes it’s a real chore getting things to their destination on time and in good shape.

Have you had problems finding what you were looking for? I have. For instance, there are some movie titles that just are not available. But I did find a really rare title quite recently. It is supposed to be shipped out already but it might not make it here on time. Since our family celebrates a day early so that those of us who travel can be home on Christmas day, we even have less time.

I usually figure the cutoff time for shipping things, to be safe, is around the 7th or 8th of December. I usually do not order anything else that has to be mailed to me. After that date, I have to depend on the local (Hahahaha) stores. All that does is spur me on to getting my shopping done earlier in the year most Christmas seasons. This year was a tad late getting started because of money…yes, money again. It’s always about the money, isn’t it. But blogging has been a real saving factor this year. Because of our blogging for payment, we were able to actually HAVE Christmas presents. If we had not had this, there would have been a serious shortage for the kids and the adults. We are grateful that we can do this. And this is not the post to lambast the big g for what it has done. This is an upbeat post.

So, what is happening with you? Are you getting your shopping done or are you one of those who figure that it’s just as easy to shop at the last minute? Did you learn nothing from “Jingle All The Way?” Arnie was desperate and so will you be if you wait that long to buy your presents, especially for your wife or husband. Oh, not good.

We can talk about this after Christmas and share what we got, okay?

Happy Christmas Shopping to all and to all a good night!!!

My Momma’s Blog

My Momma has a very different style to her blogging. She is one of a kind to be sure. Her blog “Up Scheidt Creek” (sound it out. You’ll get it) uses the humor and jargon of the hills to tell her story as only she can tell it. Her latest blog entry “Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat” shows what type of down home common sense this lady has.

She likes to sometimes give the history of certain words and phrases like a computer with a problem has a “bug” in it. Her Bug category does have several entires in it. Whether it’s Brewing Gum or finding the history of bugs, this is a unique and funny blog that you should see for yourself.

I like to look at travel blogs because they have so much information that we might need when we travel away from home. On this one particular blog, it has your general information but it also has some weird stories too. That would be the part I liked about it. What it can give you are accommodation stories that tell you where to stay, what to see. Not bad.

Were you looking for travel ideas or accommodation travel news? They have those. Very interesting. Need to know how to take pictures in Bejing? I think I saw a story on that on that website. They can tell you about accommodation updates, attractions and more.

Are you searching for that one type or cup of coffee that hits the spot? Not only can they tell you where it is but also how to acquire it. It may be very strange to you but the best coffee in the world is digested by little animals before it can become the best in the world. Then, the Kopi Luwak coffee beans are roasted. This is an extremely rare coffee, only 100 – 300 kilograms are produced a year. Want to know where and how?

Blogs start up all the time but only a few actually make it into the big time where everyone “knows your name”, yeah, just like Cheers. Now, a company, Future Steel Buildings, that builds steel buildings has broken into the blogging world with their designs of steel buildings that work just about anywhere you need a building on your property.

The blog, Future Steel Buildings, is going forward into the next generation of advertising. You see these buildings everywhere. At least I do. I live in a rural area of a mostly farm state. There are such buildings all over the place. This site has what you are looking for in a Future Steel Building. They have been in business for 25 years so they know what you are looking for no matter what the need.

Are you a farmer needing a small barn? Got it. Hunter? Yep, they have that too. Need a garage, workshop or carport? They have all of those plus so many more. Isn’t it time you checked Future Steel Buildings out for yourself instead of reading this? Yeah, I thought so.

This is a shopping experience of a different kind, I suppose. Not long ago, I was on one of my bookmarking places when someone offered me some free advertising for my blog. Now, I have to tell you that the word FREE jumped out at me. I LOVE **FREE** when it’s something I want. So, I checked them out and it’s great. The site is called “Adgridwork” and is free advertising for not only bloggers but also for businesses and for websites.

All you have to do is register, enter your blog and receive a widget that goes on your site. The little white boxes on my sidebar are that advertising for someone else. They advert you and you do the same. It cycles through so that you don’t have the same ads each time. This is a great deal!! So, what are you waiting for? Go sign up!

NOTE: This was an unsolicited, non-paid post.
