We had an occasion to visit a Wendy’s in Batesville, Arkansas. Now, if you have read any other posts of mine recently, you will take note that I did also eat at a Pizza Hut buffet one day a while back. I do believe that Batesville is not a good town to go out to eat. Yet, I used to enjoy some of the places that they have there. Still, this was one visit I choose not to have again.
When we walked into the store, we were already disappointed because the reason we were there in the first place was for the frescatta (I KNOW I did not spell that right but no idea anymore what they were called) sandwiches. Those were really good. Having been to the corporate site, I see that it was one of their decisions to remove those from the menu. Right there is a good reason not to go back to Wendy’s at all. And now we have a reason not to go to the one in Batesville as well.
Because I could not have the original order, I substituted a couple of wraps. They had chicken in them. I figured I could not go wrong there. Yeah well. I ordered that and fries. My husband ordered two chicken sandwiches and fries. His sandwiches were very small, looked like they came off the kid’s menu. My wraps had grilled chicken in them…dry as dust. It also had honey mustard on it. I do not like honey mustard. Problem…they did not say that on the menu. I guess you would have to ask that but how do you ask what you don’t know you have to ask?? Hmmm?
The chicken was almost hard. The fries were half cooked. I’m thinking here that the visit is now a total bust. Of course, the manager was more or less helpful and wanted to replace the wraps. I was okay with that. From what I can gather, at least one of the wraps simply had the mustard wiped out of it and replaced by ranch dressing. One of them had more moist chicken but it was a tiny piece. I suspect they are getting three to four, possibly five wraps from one small piece of chicken for those wraps. How cheap can a place get?
Personally, I have no problem whatsoever, not going back there ever again. I used to love Wendy’s when Dave Thomas owned it. Since he died, it has gone the way so many other places go when the vision dies with the creator, to seed.

I rather prefer eating at Nice healthy food at home
Actually, I agree with you on that. Normally we do not eat out as a rule. Lately, we have had occasion to have to eat out instead because we were away from home and unable to eat there so we thought it would be good to eat in this particular place. Having done so in the past told us that it would likely be a good choice. Unfortunately, over time things do change. The way that company and store are run is one such thing.
By the way, I do believe I understand how you meant that but it really does sound as though you look down on those who eat out occasionally. Not particularly happy with that one. I think everyone should have a “date” out once in a while.
This response is specifically to Donkeyhead who’s comment I deleted, not for the crude comments made, but for the curse words that I have already stated in my policy statement that I will not allow.
Donkeyhead, I may be dumb as you stated though I will not claim that. BUT this is **my blog**. I will say or review anything I want in it and without being censored **by you**. I am NOT a female dog. And yes, as a matter of fact, I did expect at least some good fast food at Wendy’ s since, in the past, that was the case. Look, it’s fast food. I did not expect a class act. I did however expect to see something that resembled fast food. That wasn’t the case either.
I am not on a pedestal pal but I am extremely unhappy with the likes of you who think that they can hide behind their hotmail addresses and get away with that type of language.
You are slime. Go back into the hole you crawled out of and leave the rest of us alone.
Dear Idiot,
You’re a bitch. Your opinion is the wrong. You are just trying to impress your friends with your attempts at being super witty.
Sincerely,
Donkey Head’s Brother
Ordinarily I would remove this comment for it’s offensive language but I did want others to see what I have to deal with.
I am commenting about the lack of concern for the customer at the local Wendy’s restaurant. What I am getting is an attack that is quite personal. I have no idea why other than the individual in question is simply bored and has nothing better to do than harass someone they cannot see and who cannot see them. They must love the internet a lot. That way they can attack and have nothing done to them at all. Nice, don’t you think?
For Donkey head’s brother (by the way, DONKEY is a good word for you or the both of you if, in fact, there actually are two people instead of the one I think you are), I do not try to impress anyone. I do not give a crap what you or anyone else thinks about my review. My blog. My thoughts. (See disclosure policy above)
I am not a female dog. If I were a female dog and writing this post, I would be headed for the Guinness book for certain.
People who tell others that their “opinion” is wrong are just asinine. They are apparent control freaks. This may be contrary to your world, bud, but I have an opinion. It is mine and I am allowed that unless you are the newest dictator to roam the earth. Even so, I still have a right to MY OPINION whether you like it or not. And for the record, I did not have to allow YOUR OPINION on my blog. I could have deleted it just as I did the last one that had crude and offensive language in it.
And thank you for the “super witty” comment. That was taken as a compliment. And judging by your reaction to it, it worked! Thanks again.
Obviously “DonkeyHead” and his “brother” have nothing better to do than be negative little trolls.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with expecting ANY establishment to live up to it’s claims and it’s advertising.
I also have no doubts at all that the folks at Wendy’s corporate HQ would not only like to see this and any other honest reviews of their restaurants and products but would also use that information to see to it that corrections are made.
The particular store being reviewed is giving the company a bad reputation and needs to be brought into line with corporate standard.
If that means a change in management or other personnel, then so be it.
That “Donkeyhead” and others seem to expect this level of service from Wendy\’s indicates that the stores in their area need to be looked at as well. …. OR that “Donkeyhead” and company need to get a life and quit trolling.
