Last year, we got the news! My niece is going to have a beautiful new baby in April or May. Now, I have to admit that this bit of news was a surprise, to say the least. So, nobody was really ready to help with the necessities right away. You know, things like baby clothes and toys. How about bottles, booties, baby bed, blankets, all the big “B’s” for baby.

Then, of course, even before that and fairly soon after she got the news, she needed to find some really great, stylish maternity clothes. Or so I thought. See, when I was pregnant, I turned into a HOUSE! I could not see my feet for months. In my case, I needed maternity clothes as soon as possible late in the fourth month. Not so with my niece. For one thing, she started out reed thin so when she did start to show, it was a dainty sort of cute thing going on instead of what I had gone through. Sigh. But at least she and the baby are doing fine. And she has some really cute maternity clothes. Double sigh.

So, now we are awaiting the arrival of the newest member of our family. She is already beautiful. We saw the ultrasound pic!! How awesome! New life about to show up in the world. What a blessing.

Congrats to you and your family! Babies are so exciting–they remind us to think young.

I have hips and boobs to begin with, so I pulled off pregnancy looking great. It’s now, after the pregnancy, that I need some work. ;)

Those cute skinny mommies like your niece are so not fair! And you just know she’ll be back in her skinny jeans two months after the baby’s birth!

Yes, she will definitely be back in her skinny jeans in a couple months. GROWL! But the babies are so great. She is waiting impatiently now for the time to come. :)

I’m awaiting the birth of my first grand child in early July. My son and daughter-in-law live about 4,000 km away so I’m not there to share that special time of the growing ‘bump’. They visited me recently and she’s definitely glowing.

I’ve already done the baby shopping but I’m sure I can do more.

I cant wait for them to move back home to our town and especially the arrival!

The mom has done some shopping and has had a baby shower but not all things are bought yet. She is going to be due sometime in May but we think it may be early. So, there needs to be more shopping!!!! :)

I’m so happy for you! I know what you mean about turning into a “house”. I am tall and although I was slim all my life I gained about 30 pounds the year before I got pregnant. I went back to my pregnancy weight but i still need to lose that pesky 30 pounds.

Take care, hope to read more about the babe.

Yes, the word house does describe it to a “T”. And my niece is a dainty person who is just large enough for the baby. She will likely lose the extra pounds as fast as she put them on too. I am so glad for her. I will be glad to put up the good news when it happens! We already know it’s a girl!

What exciting news! I was like you: I needed maternity clothes by the end of the fourth month as well. Even with my first pregnancy–when I was thin!
