One of the things that annoys the living daylights out of me is when the phone rings just as we were sitting down in front of a movie that we planned on and wanted to see all week. Usually, I do not want to bother with the phone at that time but since we have had emergencies pop up in our extended family, from time to time, I cannot ignore the thing.

The usual problem is that someone wants to talk, talk, talk about nothing or something which could wait until later but doesn’t. It could be one of several telemarketers who have not heard that we are on a “Do not call” list somewhere. In any event, the big problem is that the family wants to see the show whether I can or not. So, we mute the television and that brings up the closed captioning so that everyone not on the phone can read the text at the bottom of the screen. This way, they don’t miss as much as they would otherwise.

Realistically, we should not think that every single thing on the screen will be as the actors say it but we do. So, it’s happy time at our house when some of the nonsense written there comes up. It’s not the movies so much as it is the live telecasts. Those are priceless. Newly invented words show up with alarming frequency. It’s a wonder anyone can read it but, frankly, that’s better than not having it at all.

Numerous individuals feel so conscious passing through video surveillance systems. Are you one of them?

But yes, I share the same sentiments with you too. Ringing cell phones in theaters really do suck, especially when you are really too engrossed with what you’re watching.
