In my life, I’ve had a couple of credit cards…well several really. When I was young, it was not a good idea to give me one. Talk about irresponsibility! But at this time in my life, I could have 0% credit cards but I don’t. Thing is, I do think they can be a good thing but mostly for emergencies or to get a bad credit rating up to a good one. Now, if I did have credit cards, I would want to transfer to the ones that allow 0% balance transfers.

If a person is going to charge, charge and charge again without looking at when they have to pay it back, not good. If they are interested in having an extra “ace-in-the-hole” then it is an excellent idea. The main thing is to watch the interest rate and transfer rates. Those will give you an idea of whether it’s a good idea to have credit cards or not. Credit cards can be your friend.
