Welcome back!
Years ago, I lived in Tampa. It was a great place to live. Every now and then, we would head over to St. Petersburg to go shopping. Now, at the time, there was this department store..the name escapes me…and it had several floors of goods and one place that had a great deal of fun for the kids..of all ages. The first thing I remember is the chicken that could play the piano. I had never seen such a thing in my life.
There were fish tanks and games to play. But the place that most of the kids wanted to go was where they had the slot cars because you could have a race with others and win! If you won, you got some tickets good for prizes when you finished all of your playing. Well, I really was not good at the slot cars but I was better at the game where you had wooden balls to roll up into holes. The holes had values. If you did pretty well, you got tickets. Skeeball. I knew I would remember the name of it! I got a whole load of tickets and turned them in for a stuffed animal. At the time, I was twentysomething and sure didn’t need an animal of any kind but he was cute and cuddly so I took him home.
