When I was growing up, I believed that garages were for “the stuff” not cars. Know why? Because every garage we had was stuffed to the gills with…well, stuff. Back when I was still going to grade school, my parents owned a duplex. We lived downstairs and the renters were upstairs. You could tell when they moved in. The renters wanted to use the garage for a CAR!!!!! How strange. Worse, the father of the kids that came with the people upstairs wanted to use the garage for tool storage as well as the car.

It wasn’t possible, was it? Do people actually do that? Well, since then I found out that most folks do use the garage for cars and other storage things. Why we couldn’t do that, I will never know. My Mom still has a two car garage chock full of stuff but the car sits out in the carport. Go figure.
