First, I was not a huge fan of Elvis when he was alive but I did like his music. He was really good. Now, very near the anniversary of his death (August 16, 1977–30 years later), we notice that he is still getting rave reviews and fans from all over go to Graceland to honor the King…of rock and roll. What is it about this guy that everyone is so enamoured? I am not really sure other than he had some mystery about him.

He made truly bad movies but they were and still are cult classics. But the music was great. And he was larger than life even when he was alive. There are some who think that he faked his death in order to have some peace. I dunno. Probably not but who can say. Here is a tribute to him by one of his good friends, Mary Ann Mobley.

Elvis will not be forgotten, certainly not by the Elvi! You know, those Elvis impersonators that show up every now and then. But they do keep the memories alive, don’t they.
